Continuous rain from 25/11/2008 filled the streets and lakes in chennai.
On 27th night, the lakes chembarambakkam and porur are opened.
Water lashes into the streets. Pity! My street Sri Ramar Street in Saligramam also flooded.
Sewage water started entering my home as this is in ground floor. Myself, wife and our kid moved to I floor as the smell is not bearable believing water won't exceed 1 foot.
Opened our eyes at 4 am on 28th though there was no sound sleep, find water reached nearly 3 feet inside the home. We were surrounded by water in all directions and we cannot come out of home. We got into the room by swimming in water, shocked to see fridge floating and the microwave over bought 2 months back was drowned. We searched the wet grider.I moved the fridge and washing machine to a room and locked. I moved my bike which is fully covered by water in to room.Simply we picked the things whichever we can carry to the first floor. Pity thing is we were ina position to select the best thing from our belongings which is not wet.
On 29th I carried Hiranmaiyee in bicycle's seat to send her along with mama to their house.

I cannot forget the time spent in dark without television and entertainment. I enjoyed the bohring Trade game played on that day.
I was happy to see me pedalling the bicycle in water logged streets in Raj News Channel which Mangla boasted to everyone happily when we were staying as a refugee in Jayakumar's house.
Now this is the time to see which electrical goods are working and to dry the things to get back my life.
